Elk watching elk watchers
Bull elk graze in the field at the Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area, near Reedsport on Saturday, while several travelers stop to look and take pictures. About a dozen bulls could be seen easily and some of the cows were in the brush nearer the hills.

One lane still closed
A section of U.S. Highway 101 south remains closed after a portion of the roadway 10 miles north of Bandon, slid away on Saturday morning.
