A portion of the shoulder along East Bay Drive at milepost 4 has slid into the bay. Traffic is slowed in the area to 20 mph with stop signs on both sides of the area to control traffic. It is not known when the slide will be repaired.

One lane of East Bay Drive has been closed for the foreseeable future after the ground beneath it slid away.
Motorists may be waiting a long time before it's fixed, considering the high price tag for repair job - estimated at $1 million.
A really long time.
“It's a doozy,” Coos County Roadmaster Larry Van Elsberg said.
Van Elsberg offered no timeline as to when it might get fixed.
The damaged section of road is close to where the Oregon Department of Transportation recently completed a nearly $500,000 repair job on East Bay.
That repair was completed with the backing of state and federal dollars after an emergency declaration was decreed, stemming from the winter floods of 2006.
This one won't be, Van Elsberg said.
As a result, the Coos County Highway Department has closed one lane of East Bay Road at mile post 4. Due to the terrain, the county has installed barricades and stop signs. By order of the Board of Commissioners, an emergency 20-mph speed limit has been posted.
Due to the loss of $1.2 million in federal timber payments earmarked for the road department, the county is unsure when the repairs will take place.
