A serving of Seuss

Dressed in their “Cat in the Hat” paper hats, students at North Bay Elementary School celebrated the 103rd birthday of Theodor Geisel, known to the world as Dr. Seuss, on March 2. At this school, along with schools and libraries across the United States, children could be found reading. Top, Shannon Stein, a second-grader, is read to by Shailun Cancino, a fifth-grader from the book “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.” Older students read to youngster students in the school's library set up as the Seuss Cafe where students picked a book from the menu and adult volunteers brought the books to the table. Above, Principal Colleen Reeves is the waitress for the morning's Seuss Cafe.
