Traditional Japanese art demonstration

An ink painting by Darlene Dihel. The featured artist at the Coos Bay Public Library, 525 W. Anderson Ave., in March, Dihel will present a preview of her work and demonstrate the art of sumi-e painting from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Sumi-e is the traditional artform of Japanese ink painting, usually featuring black ink on rice paper. Dihel's exhibit will open March 1.
