Young singers to perform opera classics

Portland Opera To Go will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the Sprague Community Theater in City Park. The show is sponsored by Bandon Showcase and will include a fundraising benefit reception and silent auction held prior to the performance, beginning at 6 p.m.
An outreach division of the Portland Opera, “Portland Opera To Go” will offer a fun, accessible evening of music featuring some of the Northwest's best up-and-coming young singers performing operatic hits and musical comedy gems. All proceeds will be used to continue Bandon Showcase's efforts to bring outstanding cultural performances to Bandon. Tickets are $20 and available at Bandon Mercantile, through the Web site at www.bandonshowcase.org, calling the theater at 347-7426, or Pat Carpenter at 347-8147.
