‘Mikado' offers musical mischief

Yum-Yum (Kerry Oxford) twirls her umbrella in “The Mikado.” Little Theatre on the Bay presents the winter musical “The Mikado, or The Town of Titipu” weekends through March 4.
“The Mikado” is a comic opera in two acts, with music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W. S. Gilbert. The play is inspired by and purports to portray Japanese culture, style and government. Performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $12, $10 for students and seniors, and $8 for children; other discounts are available under a new family plan.
