Man dies in accidental handgun shooting

Wednesday, February 14, 2007 |
A North Bend man died in an accidental shooting Monday night.
According to a North Bend Police Department press release, at about 10:15 p.m., a 911 caller reported a man had shot himself at 2490 Union St., in North Bend. Officers and emergency personnel arrived and found Mak Voljevica, 25, unconscious and suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was taken to Bay Area Hospital, where he later died.
North Bend Police Chief Steve Scibelli said Voljevica had attended a gathering with about five other people, and had apparently been fooling with a .45-caliber revolver owned by the occupant of the house, Frank Boresma. Several individuals warned Voljevica not to handle the gun, as it was loaded, Scibelli said.
No one else was injured in the shooting and no charges have been filed at this time.
