Hearing set on RV park
Thursday, February 8, 2007 1:42 PM PST
BANDON - A proposed 25-acre recreational vehicle park is on the agenda for the Bandon Planning Commission tonight.
The meeting is likely to draw a crowd.
Smith River, Calif., developer Hank Westbrook is proposing the 179-space RV park on land beside the Coquille River just south of the Bullards Bridge. It's on the site of the former Rogge sawmill.
The Coos County Planning Commission is holding hearings to decide whether Westbook's conditional use application should be approved. A hearing Feb. 1 brought debate from nearby residents and Bandon Mayor Mary Schamehorn, who was upset the county hadn't notified the city of the land use proposal, as outlined in an intergovernmental agreement.
Ultimately, the project could include docks/piers, a recreation center, registration building, 2,500-square-foot convenience store and a caretaker's residence.
The Bandon commission meets at 7 p.m. at Bandon City Hall, 555 Highway 101. |
