Sheriff drafts crime response priority list

Included within Coos County Sheriff Andy Jackson's four-page memo to the Coos County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, was a list of what reported crimes patrol deputies will, and won't, respond to if $1.7 million is cut from the Sheriff's Office current budget.
€ “We will respond”
Murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, sex offenses, arson, domestic assault, felony crimes in progress (Call out will delay response).
€ “We may respond”
Burglary, auto theft, larceny, drunk drivers, misdemeanors in progress (If manpower is available).
€ “We may respond”
Fraud, forgery, embezzlement, prostitution, gambling, liquor violations, prowlers, runaway juveniles, minor in possession parties. (At the discretion of the supervisor).
€ “We will not respond”
Animal problems, civil disputes, lost and found properties, assisting motorists, building security, victimless crimes, bad checks (unless the supervisor feels that there are unusual circumstances).
