A public meeting to gather comments about the Draft Rogue River Spring Chinook Conservation Plan will be held at 7 tonight, at the Gold Beach City Council chambers, 29592 Ellensburg Ave.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is holding the meeting to take public input about the plan that identifies the desired status and conservation status for Rogue River spring Chinook. The plan also outlines nine alternatives to reach those goals.
According to the department, the spring Chinook population has dropped dramatically after Lost Creek Dam was built in the late 1970s.
Copies of the draft plan are available at the Gold Beach office of ODFW and on the Web at http://www.dfw.state.or.us/fish/nfcp/rogue_river.
Comments can be e-mailed to rogue.springChinook@state.or.us or mailed to the Gold Beach ODFW office at P.O. box 642, 29907 airport Way, Gold Beach OR 97444. The comment period ends Feb. 9. |
