Frozen in Flow

Monday, January 15, 2007 |
The fountain in the Shore Acres State Park gardens is frozen Saturday morning, the flowing water creating an icy show. Friday night temperatures recorded by the National Weather Service at North Bend hit a low of 27 degrees, but at Shore Acres, it was colder than that. David Bridgham, of the Friends of Shore Acres, said that this is the second time the fountain has frozen over. The first time was the first winter after the fountain was constructed in 1996. The water is still flowing to keep the pipes from breaking from the cold weather.
