LNG and pipeline forum
Tuesday, January 9, 2007 1:00 PM PST
A question-and-answer public forum on liquefied natural gas and the proposed pipeline will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hales Center for the Performing Arts at Southwestern Oregon Community College, 1988 Newmark Ave., in Coos Bay.
On Monday, the Williams Company completed collecting soil samples along the bottom of the Coos Bay estuary. Despite its recent efforts to determine an underwater route for the proposed Pacific Connector pipeline, no representative is expected to appear at Thursdays meeting. (See the Wednesday issue of The World for full coverage of the boring project.)
Panelists will include Bob Braddock, project manager of Jordan Cove Energy Project; Jeffery Bishop, executive director of the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay; Ron Opitz, executive director of the South Coast Development Council; Dan Serres, the Friends of Living Oregon Waters program coordinator; Jody McCaffree, of Citizens Against LNG; Rory Cox, of Ratepayers for Affordable, Clean Energy; and Adam Bless, a senior analyst from the Oregon Department of Energy. |
