Garden plot applications available

Saturday, January 06, 2007 |
Applications for 2007 membership in the South Coast Community Garden Association and for 2007 gardening plots at Lady Bug Landing are now available at the entrance to the garden, located on Anderson Avenue and Eighth Street; at Coos Grange Supply, 1085 S. Second St.; and at McKay's Freshmart on Seventh and Anderson.
Applications also will be available at the association's annual meeting, at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan 9, at the South Coast Education Service District, 1350 Teakwood Ave., in Coos Bay.
Garden plots will be assigned this month, beginning with applications received on or before Jan. 9. Gardening will begin Feb. 1. Applications will continue to be available as long as plots are available. Membership dues are $10 per year and members may apply for a garden plot, which has an additional $10 per year maintenance fee.
Applicants can contact SCCGA to request fee waivers. Donations of fees are welcome to support member-gardeners who require waivers.
