Wednesday, January 03, 2007 |
Coos Bay Police arrested two Coos Bay residents last Wednesday following a car crash near Mingus Park.
According to a press release, at approximately 6:40 a.m. on Dec. 27, a woman reported she lost control of a vehicle she was driving and it rolled into a yard on North 10th Street. The press release indicated that after a preliminary investigation at the scene, officers determined the woman, Lynette Bateman, 42, was not the driver of the vehicle. As a result of a follow-up investigation, police contacted 19-year-old Andrew Roberson at his home and subsequently took him into custody on a hit-and-run charge.
Police also arrested Bateman on a charge of initiating a false report.
According to Coos County jail staff, Roberson and Bateman were booked at the jail on bail amounts of $7,500. Both were released on Dec. 27.
