Weather spotter class

Ryan Sandler from the National Weather Service office in Medford, in cooperation with Coos County Emergency Services, will present a winter weather spotter training class from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the council chambers at Bandon City Hall, 555 U.S. Highway 101.
A variety of topics will be covered, including winter storms impacting the area, high surf, weather safety tips, a review of the different winter weather warnings, watches and advisories issued by the NWS, as well as when a weather spotter should call the NWS. There is no cost for this class.
All members of the general public are invited to attend and the NWS will be recruiting new weather spotters.
