The North Bend and Coos Bay fire departments are picking up discarded Christmas trees, some of which will be used by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to enhance fish habitat in local streams.

North Bend residents and Coos Bay wishing to participate are asked to place discarded Christmas trees on the sidewalk next to their homes by 9a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6.
