Cooking Christmas dinner for 150 is a mission

World Photo by Lou Sennick Greg Hazen started cooking Christmas dinner for about 150 people at 5 a.m. Christmas Day at the South Coast Gospel Mission on North Seventh Street, in order to have everything ready for dinner at 2 p.m. Hazen is the kitchen manager for the mission in Coos Bay and prepared a traditional meal “like your grandmother would make” with turkey and ham along with potatoes, yams, carrots and dessert. It is the first Christmas celebration for the mission in its new building after moving from the former Empire location.
