Economic Outlook Forum on Dec. 8 at The Mill

South Coast residents will have the opportunity to hear from economists about local, state and national conditions, as well as from local leaders on projects of importance to the local economy, at the 14th-annual Economic Outlook Forum, to be held from 6:45 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at The Mill Casino-Hotel in North Bend.
The breakfast conference is presented by the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and Southwestern Oregon Community College Business Development Center, in cooperation with 32 sponsoring businesses and organizations.
The conference will feature several key speakers, including John Mitchell, U.S. Bancorp chief economist, who will provide a keynote address on the state, regional and national economic outlook; Guy Tauer, labor economist with the Oregon Employment Department, who will present an overview of the South Coast economy; Gary LeTellier, Coos County Airport District executive director, who will talk about updates on projects that affect the community; Brady Scott, CEO of Coquille Economic Development Corporation; Jeffrey Bishop, Oregon International Port of Coos Bay general manager; Dan Smith, Bay Area Hospital CEO; and Ron Opitz, South Coast Development Council executive director.
Three South Coast businesses - Chambers Plumbing & Heating, Reese Electric and Sause Bros. Ocean Towing - also will be highlighted, and Oregon International Port of Coos Bay Director of Communications & Freight Mobility Martin Callery will deliver closing words.
Cost of admission is $24 for Chamber of Commerce members, $30 for non-members and $17 for students. Space is limited.
