Road Runs
Upcoming Road Races on the South Coast
See Jane Run - Today, starting at 10 a.m. at John Topits Park in Coos Bay. All proceeds from the annual all-woman event support the Coos County Women's Safety and Resource Center. Events include a 5-kilometer run/walk and a non-competitive 1-mile walk. The entry fee is $20 with a T-shirt or $8 without and forms are available at the Women's Safety and Resource Center. Registration runs from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the start area.
Million Dollar Challenge - Saturday, Oct. 14, starting at 10 a.m. on the Coos Bay Boardwalk. Events include a 5,000-meter run and a 2,500-meter run, with the shorter race limited to runners 13 and under. Runners compete against a set of age-graded standards established by the Road Runners Club of America and the South Coast Running Club. The entry fee is $6 if postmarked by Oct. 9 ($4 for runners under 19) and $8 on race day. Registration on Oct. 14 runs from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the glass-enclosed structure on the boardwalk. Kentuck Run - Satuday, Nov. 4, starting at 10 a.m. on Kentuck Inlet, about 4 miles east of East Bay Road. Events include the South Coast 15-kilometer championships and a 5K run/walk on a flat to gently rolling paved road. Registration will be held on race day from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the start area.
