Computer class designed to aid with genealogy

“The Joys of Ancestor Hunting,” the 2006 Family History Seminar, will be held on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3-4, at the North Bend Technology Center, next to the North Bend Swimming Pool; and at the Family History Center, 3355 Virginia Ave., in North Bend.

From 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, two three-hour computer classes will be offered at the North Bend Technology Center. On Saturday, there will be four two-hour computer classes offered at the technology center. Also on Saturday, there will be 23 classes offered at the Family History Center, between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Those interested can sign up for one class each during four time slots.

Classes will include how to grow a family tree, researching the old Northwest Territories, finding Indian records, seeking female ancestors and more.

Lunch will be served, and there is no charge for the seminar, although donations will be accepted.
