School of massage is open for classes

Ardell Carlson, LMT, No. 5437, has opened the Dee LaVon School of Massage, a certified vocational school to prepare students for the Oregon State Massage Board Exams. The school, located in Coquille, will begin classes Sept. 19 and run through Aug. 18, 2007.
The staff also will include Dr. Tom Clunie, D.C., and Mara Spang LMT, No. 4075.
Classes, to be held on Tuesdays and Saturdays, will include anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology, massage therapy techniques, hydrotherapy and bookkeeping. These classes will fulfill the requirements of the Oregon Massage Board and prepare students for a successful career in the field of licensed massage therapy.
