RSVP needs yarn
Wednesday, June 28, 2006 1:18 PM PDT

Retired Senior Volunteer Programs is in need of donations of yarn for several projects. RSVP volunteers are busy making items for seniors who are in care facilities or live alone, and for Oregon National Guard soldiers stationed in Afghanistan.

The projects require non-wool, knitted worsted weight yarn for lap robes and slippers; and baby weight, non-wool yarn for baby blankets.

Also needed is 100-percent wool in black, dark gray, dark brown and olive drab for helmet liners, and knit-cro-sheen crochet thread to make cell phone covers for the elderly who live alone.

Those who can donate are asked to call Pat at 888-0929, or bring to Room 220 of the Newmark Center, 2110 Newmark Ave., in Coos Bay.
