Garden work party scheduled

Wednesday, July 12, 2006 |
The South Coast Community Garden Association is inviting volunteers to join the group Friday for a work party at the Lady Bug Landing Community Garden in downtown Coos Bay.
Helpers are to gather around 9 a.m. at the garden near the corner of Eighth Street and Anderson Avenue to help finish wood fencing along the north end of the garden. Volunteers also plan to discuss and possibly start the seating area. The Master Gardeners also will be fertilizing the rest of the beds and weeding what they have planted. Those who plan to attend are asked to bring cordless drills, shovels, wheelbarrows, a favorite weeding tool, 5-gallon buckets and gloves. For more information, those interested can call Don and Renée Blom at 269-7468.
