The public is invited to attend a retirement party for Coos County Commissioner Gordon Ross, at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 30, at the Coos County Courthouse, 250 N. Baxter St., in Coquille. Cake and coffee will be served.

Ross announced he will leave the job at month's end due to health problems. Former Coos County commissioner Bev Owen was appointed to fill the remainder of Ross' term.
