They asked “What's in a name?” (The World, April 21).

The Coos County Airport District Board of Directors didn't put out a public notice of a change, or hold hearing son a change of name as is required by Chapter 198, Change of district name. Namely ORS 198.793!

Coos Bay has tried nine times to get the airport in its district. Look at some of the names involved: Brunell Mineau, Joe Benetti. What don't these people understand about no?

At this meeting, they raise Ken Messerle's monthly fee for lobbying and counciling from $1,000 to $2,000. Taxpayers, when did you get a 100-percent raise in wages for advice?

Come on North Bend. Are we going to give up 50-some years of history and prestige and let them change our township this way? It will be completed May 18 of their meeting.
