Teacher help sought in Reedsport schools
Reedsport Education Volunteers is a new program designed to give elementary teachers an extra pair of hands, ears and eyes in the classroom. The program was started by the Reedsport Rotary, but needs volunteers from the community.
Volunteers sign up either to listen to first-graders practice reading out loud or offer assistance to third-graders completing math assignments. Volunteers are not expected to teach lessons, but to monitor small groups or work one-on-one with students to polish their skills.
To volunteer or for more information, those interested can contact Ike Launstein at (541) 271-3537.
