Clubs, organizations and inviduals are needed to help out with this year's Fourth of July event at Mingus Park, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, on July 4.

Help is needed with planning a free or very low-cost activity such as jewelry-making, tie-dying and sidewalk art for kids. The Coos Bay Fire Department will host the fishing derby, and hotdog and hamburger meals wil be provided by the firefighters and their spouses.
