Southwestern Oregon Community College political science instructor Fred Brick has organized a forum for the six candidates for the two vacancies on the Coos County Board of Commissioners.

The forum will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 1, at the Hales Center for the Performing Arts on Southwestern's campus, 1988 Newmark Ave., in Coos Bay.

Candidates will field 30 minutes of questions compiled by Brick and two of his former students. The second half-hour for each group will consist of questions from the audience, collected and sorted by student volunteers.

Position No. 2 candidates include incumbent Nikki Whitty, Micky Kincheloe and Thomas Matosec and Position No. 3 candidates include Jack Christian, Kevin Stufflebean and Timm Slater.
