Q: Why doesn't the city remove the loading-zone only signs in front of the Egyptian Theatre? There is never enough parking downtown, and with the theater closed, there's no need to restrict the parking.

A: Parking will remain the same, even though it is difficult to find a space downtown, said Coos Bay City Manager Scott McClure.

According to McClure, the city has considered removing the loading-zone only restriction in front of the Egyptian Theatre. McClure consulted with Operations Administrator Steve Doty and the Roads Department, but has decided not to make any changes at this time.

“We'd rather not cause confusion by letting people park there only to change it later. We're going to leave that decision up to the group that will be running the theater,” McClure said.
