PROTECTING SOLDIERS: Just 29 U.S. soldiers overseas have sought reimbursement for body armor and other protective gear they or supporters at home have bought for them.
CONTRAST: Defense officials had said the program could be a financial burden, but the cost has been just $21,000.
ANOTHER SIDE: The president of the National Guard Association says the Pentagon has done a poor job telling soldiers about the program. |
