Road Runs
Upcoming Road Races on the South Coast
Prediction Run - Saturday, Feb. 4, starting at 10 a.m. on the boardwalk near downtown Coos Bay. Runners will predict their time for the flat 5-mile course, while walkers will predict times for a 3-mile route. The three people closest to their predicted times (no watches are allowed on the course) will win gift certificates. A post-race meal of chili and sports drink will be available. The entry fee is $5 ($3 for students). For more information, those interested can contact Pete Dawson at 267-6329.
Run of Two Cities - Saturday, March 4, starting at 9 a.m. on Eighth Terrace (just above the Mingus Park softball diamond). Events include 10-kilometer and 5-kilometer run/walks over a hilly course. The longer race will take runners through downtown North Bend and back to Coos Bay. The event is a fund-raiser for Coos County Special Olympics. The entry fee is $5 ($3 for students).
