How much money do they make?

The following is a list of some other leaders in the public sector and what they make each year. The types of benefits in each package are different but typically include such items as: medical, dental and life insurance and Public Employers Retirement System payments, among others.
€ Dan Smith, the president and CEO of Bay Area Hospital makes $303,325 annually, plus benefits including a $500,000 life insurance policy and a $600-per-month business allowance.
€ Southwestern Oregon Community College President Judith Hansen makes $120,000 annually, plus $26,000 in benefits.
€ Coos County commissioners John Griffith, Nikki Whitty and Gordon Ross are paid $58,140 each year in gross salary, plus $24,540 in benefits.
€ Jeffrey Bishop, the executive director of the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay, receives $100,000 annually, plus $38,000 in benefits.
€ Coos County District Attorney Paul Burgett is paid $80,004 annually, and receives $26,580 in benefits.
€ Reps. Wayne Krieger and Arnie Roblan, and Sen. Joanne Verger are paid $17,676 annually plus a $99 per diem when the Legislature is in session, $90 per diem for interim committee meetings, and about $15,000 for medical, dental, life insurance and PERS.
€ Coos County Sheriff Andy Jackson grosses $58,008 each year, plus $17,472 in benefits.
€ North Bend City Manager Jan Willis is paid $80,540, plus $37,927 in benefits.
€ Coos Bay City Manager Scott McClure recieves $82,404 plus $38,400 in benefits.
€ Powers City Manager Ben McMakin, a contract employee, receives $30 an hour for 24 hours of work each week. That equates to $8,600 each year. He pays for all of his own benefits. |
