Organizations seek local contributions for victims

Those would like to help victims of Hurricane Katrina can do so through donations to local organizations:
American Red Cross
The local office is at 455 S. Fourth St. No. 4, in Coos Bay; or by phone at 267-9595.
Contributions to the Disaster Relief Fund also can be made through the Oregon Pacific American Red Cross chapter in Eugene, (541) 344-5245, or the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013. Internet users can make a secure online credit card contribution by visiting

Contributions can be made to P.O. Box 3537, Coos Bay, OR 97420. Salvation Army Major Cliff Jones will forward the donations to relief agencies. More information about relief efforts can be found at the Salvation Army Web site,
