Medical student helps at NBMC this summer

Patients stopping in to see Coos Bay pediatrician Jenni DeLeon, M.D., may have noticed a new face this month at her office at North Bend Medical Centers in Coos Bay.
Third-year Oregon Health & Science University medical student Dawson Brown is serving a five-week training rotation with Dr. DeLeon, according to a press release from Bay Area Hospital.
Brown graduated from Dartmouth College with a bachelor's degree in biology and has served clerkships in psychiatry. He said he wanted to serve in a rural community to gain a wider experience in history taking, physical exams and problem solving. Students are sponsored by the Area Health Education Center of Southwest Oregon, which provides students with a gas and housing stipend.
