Bay Area Hospital will be able to purchase $42,500 in new patient equipment thanks the hospital auxiliary. The group presented BAH with the check at the annual auxiliary awards luncheon in June, according to a hospital press release.
Items to be purchased include a recumbent exerciser, visitor chairs for patient rooms, recliner and sleeper chairs and a blanket warmer. The donation brings the group's fund-raising over its 33-year history to $760,645. In addition, auxiliary junior and senior members volunteered 24,008 hours of service over the past 12 months, bringing total volunteer time over the past three decades to almost 772,000 hours.
At the luncheon, 67 auxiliary volunteers were awarded pins for service ranging from 100 to 11,000 hours, but Auxiliary member Evelyn Boyle was the tops. She earned recognition for 23 of hospital service totaling 13,500 hours.
The auxiliary also awarded $1,500 college scholarships to junior volunteers Robyn Householder, Brittany Morgan and Jamie Hall. |
