Garden clubs host picnics and potlucks

Area garden clubs are planning luncheons this week to close out their season of meetings and give gardeners more time to get out in their yards.
The North Bend Garden Club is hosting an end-of-the-season potluck luncheon at noon on Wednesday. The group plans to meet in North Bend's Simpson Park. For information, those interested can call 756-6837.
The Coos Head Garden Club also is planning a potluck picnic beginning at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, at 89995 Cape Arago Highway. New officers will be installed for two-year terms. Those who plan to attend are asked to bring their own chairs, sunscreen and yummy dishes to the festivities. Hostesses are Irene Quick and Ester Duley.
