The Prefontaine Track Club is organizing for the summer track season.

Practices will begin on Wednesday, June 1, at the Marshfield High School track.

Interested youth ages 8 to 18 from all South Coast communities are invited to participate.

Coaches will help students learn the skills for the various track and field events.

The summer schedule will include meets in Eugene, including the prestegious Track CityClassic, as well as state and regional Junior Olympics competitions.

Last summer, four of the club's athletes won regional titles and seven qualified for the Junior Olympics NationalMeet, which was held in Eugene. The club had three champions at the state meet and three winners at the Track CityClassic.
