Food needs, topic of talk

Coos Head Food Store and South Coast Food Share are presenting and collecting information to assess the needs for building local food security. The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, in Room 228 at the Newmark Center, 2110 Newmark Ave., in Coos Bay.
The public is invited to participate and gain information organizers hope will lead to development of a solid, sustainable, economically secure food supply for the community. Those who attend can place requests for food supply needs, or learn about foods can that can be grown to fill local needs. Tax credits may be available to food growers.
