Inventors, students and individuals producing something original and imaginative are invited to participate in the Innovation Showcase, to be held May 13-15 at Pony Village Mall in North Bend. The purpose of the event is to recognize and highlight innovation taking place in Oregon that plays an important part in the economic vitality of local communities.

Registration for display tables can be made by calling the South Coast Inventors' Group at 756-6778 or visiting the group's Web site, http://www.southcoastinventorsgroup.org. Applications for registration should be submitted no later than May 1, although early application is encouraged as display space is limited.

Highlighting the event will be the presentation of cash awards in specific categories, including the Southwestern Foundation Most Commercial Potential Award, the Umpqua Bank Community Innovator Award, and awards for college, high school and middle school students.

This case begs the question: Why don't the proponents for the facts request or conduct their own investigation? One subject to disclosure. Finances, of all matters to a school district are easily tracked.
