Myrtle Point school board candidates to be at forum
Wednesday, April 20, 2005 11:29 AM PDT
The Myrtle Point Education Association and Oregon School Employees Association are co-sponsoring a public forum for Myrtle Point school board candidates. The forum will take place at the Oregon State University Extension building, 631 Alder St. in Myrtle Point at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
The candidates will begin the forum with a prepared two-minute statement about why they are seeking the position. Following the candidates' prepared remarks, those in attendance will have time to ask whatever questions they wish of the candidates. Candidate responses will be timed, and moderated by Joann Mast, an agent with 4-H, said Elinor Levin, a high school choir teacher in Myrtle Point and president of the MPEA.
Eight people are running for four seats on the school board. Three incumbents are seeking to be elected again.
Statewide elections for all special districts, including school boards will be held May 17. |
