Plans for mill site topic of meeting
Wednesday, March 16, 2005 1:53 PM PST
Area residents can learn more about plans for redeveloping a former Weyerhaeuser lumber mill site on the North Bend waterfront from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at The Mill Casino-Hotel, in the Salmon Room.
At the forum, members of the Coquille Economic Development Corporation will review and evaluate the suggestions of Bay Area residents for using the site, where the company opened its mill in 1950 but largely closed operations by 1989. Suggestions included developing storefronts, restaurants, bay overlooks and boat moorage. CEDCO is to present the concept for the 50-acre parcel, now owned by the Coquille Indian Tribe, and which activities will be appropriate there.
