A jazz festival Warm-up Dance will take place from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, in the ballroom of the Red Lion Inn, Coos Bay.

The dance concert will offer a taste of some of the exciting entertainment being presented all weekend thereafter during the jazz festival.

The Warm-up Dance will feature the swinging, jump-style sound of the little big band known as Stompy Jones, which hails from San Francisco. Joining them will be the unique and energetic Cornet Chop Suey from St. Louis, named after a favorite Louis Armstrong tune.

Admission to the Warm-up Damce will be $5 at the door and is not included in festival badges. Proceeds will benefit the Southcoast Dixieland Clambake Jazz Festival, which will be held March 11-13. Food and beverages will be available. Call 396-5373 for more information.
