Wannabe politicians have until March 17 to file for election to the boards of special districts in Coos County.

Those include candidacy for seats on school boards, including Southwestern Oregon Community College and South Coast Education Service District; the Coos County Airport District, some port and water districts; fire and sanitary districts, hospital and health boards; and the Millicoma River Park and Recreational District.

Candidates can file for the open positions at the county clerk's office by either paying a small filing fee or gathering signatures. For more information, those interested can call the elections office at 396-3121, ext. 278 or 301.
