Diversity celebrated for King day

The Caravan Dancers from Coos Bay held the audience's attention for over an hour on Saturday, during a celebration for Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Pony Village Mall in North Bend.

Presented by the Human Rights Advocates of Coos County, a celebration of diversity and memories of Martin Luther King Jr. set the pace for the festivities. Hawaiian dancers, poetry, a children's skit called "A Child's Prospective," and many different speakers from the community were featured in the event. Ending the celebration was a universal dance of peace.
