Four firms seek job on airport terminal

Friday, January 14, 2005 |
At a work session Tuesday, the Coos County Airport District's Construction Management/Engineer of Record Selection Committee tentatively named four candidates for construction management of the proposed new terminal there.
CMTS Inc., Heery International and Pinnell Busch Inc., Portland-based companies, were all named as candidates as well as Mead & Hunt, a Madison, Wis.-based company.
The company chosen will work with ZGF, Inc., the architectural and engineering firm which designed Portland International Airport and which the district has already hired.
The terminal project is expected to cost about $19 million, according to Gary LeTellier, airport general manager.
In other business, the committee set an agenda item for the airport board's Jan. 20 meeting to hire NW Grassroots & Communications, a Lake Oswego-based lobbying firm.
That company will be charged with securing $10 million in proposed funding for the airport district's new terminal. The bill is expected to be drafted and then voted on this spring.
