State parks to review plan for snowy plover

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Commission on Dec. 16 will consider approving the state's Ocean Shore Management Plan and discuss submitting a Habitat Conservation Plan for the threatened Western snowy plover to the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service.
The commission meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in conference room 124 at the North Mall Office Building, 725 Summer St. N.E., in Salem.
The Ocean Shore Management Plan is a comprehensive look at all of OPRD's regulatory and management responsibilities for the ocean shore. The 203-page plover Habitat Conservation Plan describes the measures OPRD will undertake to avoid, minimize and mitigate impacts to the Western snowy plover in Oregon.
