Red Cross classes offer life-saving basics

Friday, July 23, 2004 |
The Oregon Pacific Chapter of the American Red Cross continues to provide a variety of first aid and CPR courses throughout the month. Programs will be held at the chapter's Coos Bay office at 455 S. Fourth St., Suite 4, unless otherwise noted.
Registration and prepayment are required for all courses, and the Red Cross may cancel classes with fewer than six students enrolled.
€ "Standard First Aid" teaches procedures that prepare people to act in emergency situations. The class complies with OSHA guidelines and meets the CPR and first aid training requirements of many businesses.
The fee is $48, or $40 for the CPR segment alone.
Classes are scheduled in Coos Bay from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
€ "Adult CPR/AED Review" is a shortened version of the full CPR/AED class, allowing previous students the chance to renew their Red Cross certification. All skills from the complete course will be covered. The class fee is $25.
The review course will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28.
For more information, those interested can call Crystal Cooper at 267-9595 or visit the Red Cross office in Coos Bay. Additional information is available at the agency's Web site online at http://www.oregonpacific.redcross.org.
