ASTORIA (AP) - Portions of the sequel to "The Ring," starring Naomi Watts, will be filmed in Astoria, the Oregon Film & Video Office said Wednesday.
Officials said Astoria was chosen because it captured the mood of the psychological thriller. Other films shot all or partly in the coastal town include "Goonies," "Short Circuit," and "Kindergarten Cop."
Production on "The Ring II" is to begin in May.
