PORTLAND (AP) - A Multnomah County grand jury indicted a Gresham middle school teacher accused of committing sex crimes against five boys.

John J. McPartlin, 42, is in custody on federal charges of using the Internet to solicit sex from minors. He was to be arraigned today on state charges of sodomy, sex abuse, compelling prostitution, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and using a child in a display of sexual conduct.

The boys ranged in age from 13 to 17 at the time of the alleged crimes, starting in 2000, said Christine Mascal, a Multnomah County deputy district attorney.
