What a sale!

Visitors and customers come and go up the gravel driveway at the Dan Messerle farm, at right, on Stock Slough near Eastside Saturday morning for the "Help A Cancer Patient Barn Sale." Merchandise for sale was stacked on neat rows of baled hay Saturday inside the Messerle barn on Stock Slough for a sale benefiting the cancer treatment of 19-year-old North Bend resident Jena Haga. Hundreds of folks donated items for the sale and hundreds more came to the farm to look for bargains. They found treasures such as stuffed animals, shoes and household items during the second-annual event. Haga has been diagnosed with fibrolamellar heptocellular carninoma that has attacked her liver. She is currently going through treatment in Portland.
